Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Transport Sector Expert:
  • Essential Qualification (one of the following):
    • Master's Degree in Shipping Management, Maritime Studies, Port and Shipping Management, Maritime Transport, or Logistics and Supply Chain Management; OR
    • MBA / Post Graduate Diploma in Management with specialisation in Shipping, Maritime Management or Logistics.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (mandatory) in shipping and maritime transport sector after obtaining the highest qualification. Demonstrated experience in leading teams, managing projects and conducting stakeholder engagement. Internship/training experience will not be counted.
  • Desirable: Advanced diploma/degree in Shipping, Maritime Management, Port Operations, Maritime Transport, Logistics or related field; published research papers or publications in the relevant field.
  • Skills: Stakeholder management, research and policy brief preparation, report drafting, National/State planning knowledge, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Language: Excellent spoken and written English, skills in the State-specific language, and ability to communicate in a multi-cultural environment.

Duties and Responsibilities (Key Highlights)

• Maintain coordination among UT Planning Department, LKI and NITI Aayog.
• Assist the State Institution for Transformation (SIT) in achieving objectives in collaboration with NITI Aayog and LKI.
• Prepare development strategies, sectoral targets, socio-economic goals, UT Vision@2047 roadmap, policy briefs and presentations.
• Coordinate with development partners and technical agencies concerned.
• Support preparation of project proposals for UT Government implementation.
• Support monitoring, evaluation, reporting and preparation of UT-level, regional and sectoral reports.
• Organise workshops and SIT events including preparation of relevant inputs.

Service Conditions

• Nature of Engagement: Purely contractual for an initial period of 2 years.
• Place of Posting: Kavaratti, Lakshadweep.
• Leave Entitlement: 18 days in a year plus holidays listed by UT of Lakshadweep government.
• Reporting To: Supervisor (Team Leader).
