Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology started in November 2002.
Hon’ble Chief Minister and Secretaries from various Department of Development and representatives from Water Resource, Health and Engineering, Public work, Forest, Agriculture, Industry & Technical Education Departments are the members of the Governing Body.
The objective of the UCST is to act as a nodal agency for the Department of Science & Technology for the Government of India. To promote the popularization of science and the spread of a scientific temper and attitude amongst the people of the state and to disseminate scientific knowledge and also for the promotion of science & technology for socio-economic benefits for the state and resolve the technology based problems and pursuing high end research for making Science & Technology at the core of inclusive development of the state.
