Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
- Professor of Practice: Distinguished experts who have made remarkable contributions in fields such as engineering, science, technology, entrepreneurship, commerce, social sciences, media, literature, fine arts, civil services, armed forces, the legal profession, community development, panchayati raj, rural development, watershed development, water harvesting, organic farming, small green-energy systems, municipal planning, community participation, gender budgeting, inclusive development of tribals, public administration, and related disciplines.
- Minimum Experience: At least fifteen (15) years of service or experience, preferably at a senior level. A formal academic qualification is not considered essential where the candidate has exemplary professional practice in lieu thereof.
- AICTE-Government of Gujarat Norms (14/10/2024 G.R.): For departments running programmes under AICTE – (a) Ph.D. with 10 years of relevant experience in a large conglomerate; (b) Master's degree with 15 years of relevant working experience in a large conglomerate; (c) B.E./B.Tech. with 17 years of relevant working experience in a large conglomerate; or (d) Ph.D./Master's/B.Tech. with a minimum of 5 patents and 5 years of experience in a start-up.
- Research Guidance: A Ph.D. is desirable for guiding research scholars at the Ph.D. level but is not mandatory for teaching.
- Disqualification: Persons who are in the teaching profession — whether serving or retired — are excluded and shall not be engaged. Applications from such persons shall be summarily rejected.

Selection Process & Screening Clause
The selection shall be carried out in accordance with the Procedure for Selection of Professor of Practice prescribed under Ordinance-189 and the University Circular dated 15/04/2023.
