Educational Qualification: B.Tech/B.E, Diploma
Application Form along with Eligibility criteria [Minimum Qualification, preferable Experience and other conditions of contractual service for Assistant Engineer (Civil) & (Electrical) will be available in the PHE Department's Website : www.wbphed.gov.in.

3. Qualification:
a) Bachelor's Degree (Full time) in Civil / Electrical Engineering from any Govt. recognized College/ University in India with minimum five (5) years' experience in the field of rural water supply in Government/Semi Government/Public Undertaking/Notified Area Authority/ PRIs/ Nagarpalika.
b) Diploma Engineers having Diploma in Civil / Electrical Engineering from any Govt. recognized Institution with ten (10) years' experience in the field of water supply and distribution system in Government/Semi Government/Public Undertaking/Notified Area Authority/ PRIs/ Nagarpalika.
c) Experience may be relaxed for desirable candidates.
4. Desirable Qualification: Preference will be given to candidates having experience in the field of Public Health Engineering.
5. Remuneration:
a) Rs. 28,000/- (Twenty eight thousand only) per month (Consolidated) for general candidates;
b) For retired West Bengal State Government Engineer salary will be Rs. 28,000/- p.m. or last pay minus (-) pension whichever is less.
6. Place of posting: Anywhere in West Bengal

Selection Procedure
Shortlisted candidates will be called for walk-in-interview at "Nijalaya", Plot No. 8 in Block CN, Sector — V, Salt Lake City on scheduled date & time as to be notified in the PHE Department's Website : www.wbphed.gov.in.

Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) was created as an independent full-fledged Department in 1987 vide Home (C & E) Department’s Notification No. 16664-AR dated 2.9.1987. Earlier Health & Family Welfare Department of the State Government had a Public Health Engineering Wing. As per Rules of Business of the State Government, Public Health Engineering Department controls the Water Supply & Sanitation Budget of the State Government (major head 2215/4215) and undertakes programmes of implementation of water supply and sanitation services mainly through Public Health Engineering Directorate under its administrative control.
