Total: 3 vacancies. All appointments are on consolidated pay on a contractual basis, renewable annually or up to the project duration, whichever is earlier.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Nationality: Only candidates of Indian nationality are invited to appear for the walk-in test / interview.

• Project Scientist (a): Master's degree (M.S./M.Sc.) in any Biological Sciences discipline including Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or related fields. Desirable: knowledge of Precision Medicine, experience in software development for biological/healthcare applications, proficiency in Python, R, Java or bioinformatics tools and data analysis.
• Project Scientist (b): Master's degree (M.Tech / M.Des) in any Engineering or Design discipline including Industrial Design, UI/UX Design, Interaction Design, HMI Design; or BTech/BE in Computer Science, Mechanical, Electronics, Communications, Electrical Engineering, etc. Desirable: knowledge of user-centric design, usability, storytelling, UI flows, creative thinking, and knowledge about medical devices.
• Project Assistant (Tech.): B.Tech with IT skills in Full-Stack & Mobile development (MERN Stack — MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js), HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind CSS, Python, Native Android REST APIs; Software & Vision skills (OpenCV, OpenSlide, RGB Color Analysis, Interactive UI Flows); Database & Tools (MongoDB, SQL, Git, Docker). Experience as Full-Stack Developer building GUI and backend control software for hardware.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

The selection process consists of a Walk-in Test and Interview.

1. Candidates fulfilling the qualifications and experience requirements should report in person on 21 October 2026 at 10:00 AM onwards at Room No. 121 A, II C Building, IIT Delhi.
2. Eligible candidates must bring completed Form No. IRD/REC-4 (downloadable from the IRD Website), detailed educational qualification records with percentage of marks, work experience details, a recent passport-size photograph, and all original academic and professional certificates for verification.
3. Final selection will be based on performance in the walk-in test and interview.

No TA/DA will be paid to candidates appearing for the walk-in test / interview.

Important Instructions:

• Appointment is purely contractual on consolidated pay, renewable yearly or up to the project duration, whichever is earlier. This is not a permanent government position.
• Candidates already employed in the Institute / IRD shall be interviewed only if their application is duly forwarded by their concerned establishment/section.
• A 5% relaxation of marks may be granted to SC/ST candidates as per institutional guidelines.
