Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Educational Qualification: Retired or Retiring Principal District Judge or District Judge.
• Retirement Deadline: Retiring not later than 31.12.2026.
• Service Record: Must have a clean service record with no adverse remarks and must not have been compulsorily retired under Rule 74(b) of Jharkhand Service Code, 2001 or similar provisions.
• Commitment: Must undertake to serve in the Permanent Lok Adalat of the district allotted upon selection.
• Desirable: Experience or training in mediation and similar fields.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

The selection of candidates will be conducted purely based on an interview before the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority, Ranchi.

• Candidates will be called for an interview at JHALSA, Doranda, Ranchi on the date, time, and place fixed by JHALSA.
• Physically present candidates are required to carry all their original testimonials for document verification.
• No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates appearing for the interview.

• One recent passport size photograph affixed on the application form.
• Two self-addressed stamped envelopes of Rs. 55 each.
• Serving judges must apply through the proper channel.
