Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
- Tutor (Bharatanatyam):
- Class Xth Pass
- Diploma Holder or Post Diploma Holder from a recognised institution in the particular field
- Should be able to take part in Kalakshetra productions and give a solo performance for about 2 hours
- Able to sing and conduct dance programmes by doing Nattuvangam
- Should be able to handle practical and theory classes in English
- Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of any South Indian language and Hindi, ability to write music and dance notation.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
The selection process comprises two phases:
- Written Examination (200 Marks, 3 Hours): Descriptive, Objective MCQ, or both covering Detailed History of Kalakshetra, Basic Theory of Bharatanatyam, and Classical Dance forms. Minimum qualifying mark: 100/200.
- Skill Test (Practical - 100 Marks): Candidates shortlisted from written test perform Varnam, Padam, Javali, and Thillana for minimum 15 minutes. Evaluation covers Abhinaya, Nritya, Music, Nattuvangam, and Teaching abilities. Minimum qualifying mark: 50/100.
Final Merit List: Prepared by aggregating marks from Written Test (Theory) and Skill Test (Practicals) in the ratio of 40:60.
Instructions: No travelling allowance will be paid to candidates attending the written test or skill test. Candidates must make their own arrangements for stay in Chennai.
