Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
The post of Assistant Commissioner (Shipping) is to be filled on deputation basis (including short-term contract) or promotion. Eligible candidates must meet all of the following conditions:
Who Can Apply
- Officers of the Central Government, State Government, Union Territory Administrations, Public Sector Undertakings, autonomous bodies, statutory organisations, recognised universities, or recognised research institutes, who are:
- Holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
- With five years of service rendered after appointment on a regular basis in Level-10 (Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,77,500) or equivalent in the parent cadre or department.
Essential Educational Qualification & Experience
- Degree: Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised University or Institute.
- Experience: Five years' experience, comprising—
- Minimum three years' experience in shipping or chartering of ships or port operations; AND
- Two years' administrative work experience.
Desirable Qualification
- Associateship, Fellowship, or Diploma in Shipping from the Narottam Das Morarji Institute of Shipping, Mumbai, or any institute recognised by the Ministry of Education / Ministry of Shipping, Government of India.
Departmental (Internal) Candidates
- Departmental Assistant Director (Shipping) in Level-10 (Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,77,500) with five years' regular service and prescribed qualifications will be considered along with outsiders. If a departmental candidate is selected, the post shall be treated as filled by promotion.
Age & Period of Deputation
- Maximum Age Limit: 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
- Period of Deputation (ISTC): Initial period of deputation is one (1) year; maximum period including prior ex-cadre postings shall ordinarily not exceed four (4) years.
