Essential Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree from a Recognised University or Institute.

Essential Experience

• A minimum of 14 years of post-qualification experience, out of which at least 06 years must be in land acquisition related matters.

Deputation Eligibility – Who Can Apply

Officers serving under the Central Government, State Governments, Union Territories, Universities, Recognised Research Institutions, Public Sector Undertakings, Semi-Government, Statutory or Autonomous Organisations, and other Government Bodies, who fulfil either of the following conditions:

• Holding an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre at Level-13 in the Pay Matrix (Rs. 1,23,100–2,15,900) or equivalent; OR
• With five years of regular service in the grade rendered after appointment on a regular basis in the Pay Scale of Level-12 in the Pay Matrix (Rs. 78,800–2,09,200) or equivalent.

Both categories must also possess the essential educational qualification and experience as detailed above.

Deputation Duration

• The period of deputation, including any preceding ex-cadre deputation in the same or another organisation, shall ordinarily be 01 to 05 years.
• Extension up to the 6th year requires the approval of the Chairman, NHAI.
• Extension up to the 7th year requires the approval of the Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, subject to satisfactory performance.
• Further extension, if any, requires the approval of the Hon'ble Minister for Road Transport & Highways.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

1. Online Application Submission: Eligible officers must apply online through the NHAI Vacancy Portal between 22 September 2026 and 21 October 2026.
2. Through Proper Channel: After online submission, a duly filled print-out of the application, forwarded by the Parent Department along with the prescribed Verification Certificate and photocopies of APARs/ACRs for the last five (05) years, must reach NHAI on or before 20 November 2026.
3. Screening / Scrutiny: NHAI will screen applications against the prescribed eligibility criteria. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview/interaction before a Selection Committee.
4. Interview / Selection Committee Meeting: Date and venue will be communicated to shortlisted candidates in due course. NHAI reserves the right to extend the Through-Channel copy submission deadline by 02 days prior to the Selection Committee/Interview meeting.
5. Final Recommendation: Selection is subject to verification of original documents, antecedent verification, and fitness for deputation as per Government of India norms.

No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending the interview or interacting with the Selection Committee.
