A total of 6 vacancies are available across six distinct posts under this notification. Two posts (Medical Officer, Assistant Registrar) are substantive appointments initially made for one year, while four posts are purely contractual for a period of one year.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates, Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Disabilities (PWD), and candidates currently working at Vidyasagar University as per applicable Government norms and University rules.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Only eligible Indian Nationals may apply. Detailed post-wise qualifications are as follows:

• Medical Officer: MBBS from a recognized University affiliated to the Medical Council of India; Registration Certificate from West Bengal Medical Council or Medical Council of India; at least 10 years' experience of medical practice in a Government/Military/Quasi-Government hospital (10 years' hospital experience may be relaxed in case of private practice of reputation for 15 years). Desirable: Post Graduate Degree in any branch of Medical Science or Diploma in Public and Tropical Medicine.
• Assistant Registrar: Uniformly good academic record with a Master's Degree with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade; at least 10 years' experience in supervisory capacity in a University, Research Institute, or Government/Quasi-Government organisation; at least 5 years' administrative experience. Desirable: Degree in Business Management, Law, Statistics, or Planning.
• Training and Placement Officer (Contract): Uniformly good academic record with a Master's Degree with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade; minimum 7 years' experience in supervisory capacity in an organization engaged in production or teaching in a recognized Institute of Post Graduate Learning. Desirable: Experience in major industrial capacity in India (particularly West Bengal) or experience in marketing/sales of a public sector organization.
• Assistant Professor – LLM (Contract): Good academic record with at least 55% marks at Master's Degree level in LLM (Specialization: Business Law) along with NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. exemption as per UGC norms.
• Assistant Professor – Population, Health and Development (Contract): Good academic record with at least 55% marks at Master's Degree level in a relevant subject (Specialization: Population and Demography / Health and Population Geography / Population and Development Studies / Urban and Regional Planning / Population and Environmental Studies / Gender and Development Studies / Regional Development and Planning / Human Geography / Population and Social Development) along with NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. exemption as per UGC norms.
• Assistant Professor – Santali (Contract): Good academic record with at least 55% marks at Master's Degree level in Santali (Specialization: Linguistics) along with NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. exemption as per UGC norms.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

The selection process for all six posts consists of the following stages:

1. Written / Screening Test: Conducted only if the number of applicants for a particular post exceeds the University's screening threshold. Details of the screening test (syllabus, qualifying marks) will be prescribed by the University as applicable.
2. Interview: Candidates who qualify the screening test (if conducted) or are shortlisted on the basis of eligibility will be called for a personal interview.
3. Document Verification: Original documents will be verified at the time of interview. Candidates unable to produce originals will be disqualified.

No Travel Allowance / Dearness Allowance (TA/DA) will be paid to candidates appearing for the screening test or interview.
