Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
This post is fillable only by deputation (including short-term contract) from serving officers of the Central Government, State Government, Union Territory Administrations, autonomous bodies, statutory organizations, Public Sector Undertakings, recognised Universities or Institutes. Direct recruitment of fresh candidates is not applicable for this vacancy.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from a recognized University or institution.
- Registered as an Architect with the Council of Architecture under the Architects Act, 1972 (20 of 1972).
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in the conservation of monuments or historic buildings etc.
Service Eligibility (One of the Following)
- Option (i): Holding the analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
- Option (ii): With five (5) years' service rendered after regular appointment to a post in Level-10 of the Pay Matrix (Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,77,500) or equivalent, in the parent cadre or department.
Deputation Restrictions
- Departmental officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion shall not be eligible for appointment on deputation.
- Deputationists shall not be eligible for consideration or appointment by promotion.
- The period of deputation (including short-term contract) shall ordinarily not exceed three years.
Job Profile & Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Conservation Plans and Site Management Plans of World Heritage monuments.
- Prepare Condition Appraisal Reports for protected monuments.
- Prepare and review nomination dossiers, State of Conservation (SoC) reports for the Tentative List of monuments and sites.
- Prepare and review designs of amenities and other buildings associated with monuments.
- Review Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) related to conservation and development within/around monuments.
- Review conservation-related estimates of protected monuments.
- Assist in any duties assigned by the Director (Conservation and World Heritage) from time to time.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
- Screening of Applications: ASI Administration-I Section will scrutinize all applications received through the proper channel along with complete ACRs/APARs and forwarding authority certificates.
- Eligibility Verification: Shortlisting based on prescribed qualifications, experience, cadre, and pay level eligibility.
- Final Selection / Appointment Order: Subject to acceptance by the deputationist's parent cadre and clearance by DoPT guidelines (OM No. 2/12/87-Estt. dated 29.04.1988, as amended).
No TA/DA will be paid for attending any stage of the selection process. The initial place of posting will be Dharohar Bhawan, ASI Headquarters, New Delhi.
Officers who forward their nominations will not be allowed to withdraw their nominations subsequently. Applications received after the last date or found incomplete will not be considered.
