HPRCA Eligibility Norms: Qualifications, Age Limits & Domicile

Prospective applicants for Himachal Pradesh government jobs must satisfy statutory eligibility rules formulated under state Recruitment and Promotion (R&P) regulations. The Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA) strictly enforces these guidelines at the document verification stage.

1. Bonafide Himachali & Schooling Criteria

To be eligible for Group C direct recruitment under HPRCA, candidates must fulfill one of the following fundamental domicile conditions:

• The candidate must have passed Matriculation (10th) and 10+2 from any recognized school or institution located within the territory of Himachal Pradesh.
• Domicile Exemption: Candidates who are genuine Bonafide Himachalis are exempt from the requirement of completing 10th and 12th schooling inside Himachal Pradesh.

2. Age Limits & Category Relaxations

The standard age window for HPRCA open recruitments is determined as of 1st January of the recruitment year:

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 45 Years (General / Unreserved category)

Upper Age Relaxations:

• SC / ST of Himachal Pradesh: 5 Years relaxation (Up to 50 Years).
• OBC of Himachal Pradesh: 5 Years relaxation (Up to 50 Years).
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD) of HP: 5 Years relaxation.
• Ex-Servicemen of Himachal Pradesh: As per HP Government Ex-Servicemen rules (service period plus 3 years).
• HP Government In-Service Employees: Extended relaxations according to respective departmental service rules.

3. Post-Wise Educational Qualifications

• Junior Office Assistant (IT): 10+2 from a recognized Board of School Education, plus a one-year Diploma in Computer Science / Computer Application / IT from a recognized institution, OR 'O'/'A' Level Diploma from NIELIT, OR Diploma in Information Technology / Computer Engineering.
• Patwari: 10+2 Examination passed with at least 50% marks, plus knowledge of customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh.
• Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT): B.A./B.Com/B.Sc with at least 50% marks, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), and mandatory qualification in the HP-TET conducted by HPBSE Dharamshala.
• Assistant Staff Nurse: 10+2 with Science, 'A' Grade Nurse Diploma (GNM) or B.Sc. Nursing, registered with the HP State Nurses Registration Council.
