Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
Eligibility is post-specific. The essential qualification for all Assistant Professor posts is a recognized medical qualification (MBBS) plus the requisite Postgraduate Degree (MD/MS/DM/MCh/DNB) in the concerned specialty. Non-medical posts (Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Physiology) accept Master's + PhD. Higher posts (Associate/Additional/Professor) require the same essential qualification with progressively higher teaching/research experience (3 to 14 years post-qualification).
- Assistant Professor (Clinical/Medical): MBBS + MD/MS/DM/MCh (or equivalent) in respective discipline + 3 years teaching experience (varies for superspecialty course duration).
- Assistant Professor (Non-Medical - Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Physiology): Master's in subject + PhD + 3 years teaching/research experience.
- Associate Professor: Same essential qualification + 6 years (Medical) / 8 years (Non-Medical) experience.
- Additional Professor: Same essential qualification + 10 years (Medical) / 12 years (Non-Medical) experience.
- Professor: Same essential qualification + 14 years (Medical) / 14 years (Non-Medical) experience.
Age Limit: Maximum 50 years as on closing date of online application (13 Nov 2026). Relaxation: SC/ST 5 years, OBC 3 years, PwBD 5 years, Govt Servants 5 years (regular Central Govt employees only).
Selection Process & Screening Clause
- Screening / Written Test (If Required): If the number of applicants is large, a written test or screening based on objective criteria may be conducted to shortlist candidates for interview.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview.
- Document Verification: Mandatory at the time of interview. Candidates must produce original certificates.
- Medical Examination: Final selection subject to medical fitness.
