The Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (Amrita WNA) is a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary Center for teaching and research at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kollam campus. Launched in 2006, Amrita WNA began as a R&D Center with the vision of promoting, developing, and applying the use of wireless technologies in a variety of fields that would benefit society.
i. The Center is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the post of Senior Embedded Systems Engineer.
1. Position: Senior Embedded Systems Engineer
2. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent subject
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Embedded system
- Experience in working within a technical team of Software, Hardware, and Control engineers.
3. Responsibilities:
- As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Lead a team of engineers for developing embedded solutions in areas like IoT for various projects related to biomedical, disaster management
- Convert ideas into prototypes
- Coordinate with team and assist the team with hardware support for IoT solution
- Understand the requirement and recommend the hardware stack and approaches
- Work on the proposed hardware stack and assist the development team
- Apart from this role, you may have to work with external partners and support them for small scale manufacturing of Prototypes. Our Teams continuously experiment with technologies in various domains, and we expect you to learn new concepts for prototype development.
4. Skills and Requirements:
- Strong C/C++ in Embedded
- Must be familiar with Zigbee, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi
- Must be comfortable leveraging development boards, actuators, sensors, digital displays for quick prototyping
- Deep understanding of hardware-software integrations and working
- Must have experience working with ARM, TI controllers
- Must be familiar with working with hobbyist boards such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, NodeMCU and ESP series boards.
- Must be familiar with Git and SVN control
- Must be familiar with product development process [Like Gantt chart planner, Creating Test document and quality assessment etc.]
- Good to have PCB designing skills (Only prototypes)
- Good written and verbal skills in English
- Good communication skills
- Analog, Digital circuit design
- Sound knowledge in PCB design [should be able to guide/work with a PCB designer]
