Calicut University Recruitment 2026: 1 Assistant Professor (Social Science, Contract) – Apply Online @ uoc.ac.in

The University of Calicut (DUSC-G) has issued a contract recruitment notification for 1 Assistant Professor post in Social Science at Calicut University Teacher Education Centre (CUTEC), Malappuram, for the B.Ed course. The appointment is on a contract basis to fill existing and arising vacancies, with consolidated remuneration ranging from Rs. 34,000 to Rs. 36,000 per month (without D.A. and other allowances). Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

The following qualifications are mandatory for the post of Assistant Professor on Contract in Social Science:

• Degree 1: Postgraduate degree in Social Science with a minimum of 55% marks.
• Degree 2: M.Ed. degree with a minimum of 55% marks.
• NET / Ph.D. Requirement: The candidate must have cleared the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET), or hold a Ph.D. degree in Education awarded in accordance with UGC (Minimum Standard and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulation 2009. Ph.D. holders are exempted from the NET requirement for appointment as Assistant Professor.
• Equivalency Certificate: Candidates possessing degrees from other Universities in Kerala or outside Kerala must produce an Equivalency Certificate issued by the University of Calicut (mandatory).
• Age Limit: The upper age limit must not exceed 64 years as on 08 October 2026.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

1. Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their qualifications (marks in Postgraduate degree, M.Ed., NET/Ph.D. status, and relevant experience).
2. Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email, landline/mobile phone, and the University website.
3. Document Verification: Original certificates must be submitted during the interview. Failure to produce originals will result in the loss of the candidate's claim to be considered for selection.
4. Rank List: Existing and arising vacancies will be filled from rank lists prepared based on this notification.

No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending the interview.
