Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
Professor (18 Vacancies)
- An eminent scholar with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject, actively engaged in research.
- A minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and a total Research Score of 120 as per Appendix II Table 2 of UGC Regulations, 2018.
- A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in a university or college as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, or equivalent research experience at an equivalent level.
- OR an outstanding professional with a Ph.D. in the concerned subject from any academic institution or industry, who has made a significant contribution to knowledge.
Associate Professor (46 Vacancies)
- A good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject.
- A Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade point scale) in the concerned subject.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching or research in an academic or research post equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a university, college, or accredited research institution.
- A minimum of 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and a total Research Score of 75 as per Appendix II Table 2 of UGC Regulations, 2018.
Assistant Professor (85 Vacancies)
- Academic Qualification: Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade point scale) in the concerned subject, from an Indian University or an accredited foreign University.
- Relaxation: A relaxation of 5% (from 55% to 50%) at the Master's degree level is applicable for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, as per UGC norms.
- Eligibility Test: The candidate must have cleared NET/CSIR-NET conducted by UGC-CSIR, or SET-NE, in the concerned subject.
- Exemption from NET/SLET/SET: Candidates awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016 (and amendments) are exempted from the requirement of NET/SET.
Reservation of vacancies is as per the existing Reservation Policy and Guidelines of the Government of Meghalaya, as amended from time to time.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
Selection is a two-stage process comprising Shortlisting followed by a Personal Interview.
Stage 1: Shortlisting
- Assistant Professor: Shortlisting is based on academic score as per Appendix II Table 3A of UGC Regulations, 2018.
- Associate Professor & Professor: Shortlisting is based on verification of minimum eligibility, API Research Score verification, and evaluation of publications as per Appendix II Table 2 of UGC Regulations, 2018.
Stage 2: Personal Interview
- Candidates are called for Personal Interview in a ratio of 1:3 for Assistant Professor and 1:5 for Associate Professor and Professor, relative to the number of vacancies, based on shortlisting scores.
- Final selection is based entirely on performance in the Personal Interview.
- Only candidates who produce all required documents in original at the time of interview will be deemed qualified for the interview.
Note: No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending the interview.
