The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) is a key administrative body under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. It is responsible for formulating and implementing policies related to the levy and collection of indirect taxes such as Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST), Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST), Customs Duty, and Central Excise Duty.
