The ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Kausaylaganga, Bhubaneswar, Odisha invites applications through online mode for engagement of 01 (One) no. of Young Professional-I, purely on contractual basis to work under “Network Program on Precision Agriculture (NePPA)” project at ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar as per details given below: 1. Duration of engagement: Until 31 March, 2023. (Likely to continue till March 2026) 2. Position: 01 (One) no. of Young Professional-I 3. Emoluments: Rs.25,000/- per month Consolidated 4. Essential: B.Tech /B.E (EEE/ECE)/Any branches of engineering/ B.F.Sc./B.Sc. in Zoology/ Life Sciences from a recognized University. 5. Desirable Qualifications: Academic accomplishments in Engineering /Fisheries Science and Aquaculture 6. No. 18(34)/NePPA/SKS/2022/Estt.I 31.01.2022

Selection Procedure
1. Only 10 numbers of candidates who stand sufficiently high in merit on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in respect of essential educational qualifications criteria as mentioned under of the Score card table given
2. For shortlisting the candidates for calling to attend the interview, a merit list of all candidates fulfilling the essential eligibility criteria as mentioned under will be prepared and top 10 numbers of candidates in the merit list will be shortlisted.
3. If any or few or all of the first 10 numbers of shortlisted candidates express his / her unwillingness/disinterest to attend the interview, the candidates in required number positioned onwards in the said merit list may be given opportunity to attend the interview.
A. For shortlisting the candidates for interview:
a) In a case where the total marks obtained are equal, the candidate senior in age will be ranked higher.
B. For final selection of the candidates:
a) In a case of the overall equal marks, the candidate senior in age will be ranked higher.
b) Further, if the candidates are of same age, the candidate securing more total marks (Academic accomplishments) will be ranked higher.
4. Final selection will be on the basis of candidate's performance in the shortlisting and interview taken together in order of merit.
5. Interview: Details of date, time, place and mode of personal interview will be communicated separately to the shortlisted candidates.

The Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA) is a premier research Institute on freshwater aquaculture in the country under the aegeis of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. The present Institute has had its beginnings in the Pond Culture Division of Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute (CIFRI) established at Cuttack, Orissa in 1949 with a view to face challenges in the field of fish culture in ponds, tanks and other small aquatic body. Subsequently, CIFRI, in a major effort to give emphasis to freshwater aquaculture research, initiated steps to establish the Freshwater Aquaculture Research and Training Centre (FARTC) over 147 ha campus at Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar, Orissa. The Centre gradually developed into its full capacity and became an independent Institute during 1987 as Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA). The Institute is also the Lead Centre on ‘Carp Farming in India’ under Network of Aquaculture Centres in Asia-Pacific (NACA) operative under Food and Agriculture Organisation of United Nation (FAO).
