3. Essential qualifications: M.Sc. in Microbiology/Biochemistry/Life Sciences OR M. Tech in Biochemical Engineering/Fermentation Technology/Bioprocess Technology/Industrial Microbiology OR Masters in Pharmaceuticals.
4. Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 31000/- + HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE OR (b) A selection process through National Level Examination conducted by Central Government Department and their Agencies and Institutions. Rs. 25000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.
5. Desirable: Candidates having research experience in the area of Microalgal Biotechnology or Valorisation of Microalgal Biomass and experience in the area of microbial fermentation for biopolymer production would be preferred. The selected candidate will have to work on the project entitled “Cost effective sustainable process for microalgal based γ-linolenic acid production from microalgae through biorefinery approach” for a period of six months.
6. The candidate would be working in purification of γ-linolenic acid, microbial production of biopolymers, nutraceutical formulation, process development and demonstration of the above processes.
7. Job Requirement: Competency in downstream processing of bioactive compounds such as γ-linolenic acid, microbial synthesis of biopolymers (polyhydroxyalkanaotes and ε-polylysine), process scale up and experience in organic chemistry or analytical chemistry for isolation and purification of bioactive compounds from microbial biomass.
8. Duration: These positions are purely temporary up to 31/03/2022. It would, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming absorption in CSIR- CSMCRI.

India possesses immense potential in salt production, supported by an extensive coastline of approximately 3,500 miles, inland sources in Rajasthan and the Little Rann of Kutch, and rock salt mines in Mandi. To address this national crisis, the Government established an inter-departmental committee under the chairmanship of Shri H.M. Patel, the then Cabinet Secretary. The committee's recommendations led to the formation of specialized bodies to investigate salt production, quality, and utilization. Consequently, the Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI) was established to foster research and development in this vital industry.
