Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Technician Grade II: ITI Machinist qualification along with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant trade.
• Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age as on 01 January 2026. Age relaxation as per Government of India norms applies for reserved categories.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

The selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Online Application Verification: Applications received through the online portal at recruit.cusat.ac.in will be scrutinised.
2. Hard Copy & Certificate Verification: The signed hard copy of the uploaded application along with all supporting documents will be verified.
3. Final Selection: Based on qualification, experience, and document verification. Reservation rules are applicable as per Government of India norms.

All proceedings are subject to the result of writ petitions or writ appeals pending before the Hon'ble High Court of Kerala.

No TA/DA will be paid to candidates appearing for verification.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

1. Apply online through the CUSAT recruitment portal at recruit.cusat.ac.in on or before 30 October 2026.
2. Submit a separate application with the prescribed fee online for each post having a separate serial number.
3. Take a printout of the signed hard copy of the uploaded application form.
4. Attach proof of date of birth, educational qualifications, experience, and community/category certificate.
5. Send or deliver the hard copy to the Registrar, Administrative Office, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi – 682022 on or before 6 November 2026.
6. Superscribe the envelope with: "Application for the post of Technician Grade II in the Division of Mechanical Engineering in the School of Engineering on contract basis".

Tenure & Contract Duration

The appointment is on a purely contractual basis for a period of 1 (one) year, with a break during the May–June vacation months. The contract is extendable up to a maximum of 2 years based on performance and requirement. This is not a permanent cadre post and does not carry regular government job benefits such as pension.
