Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Professor (Pre-Para Clinical Departments)

• Essential: A postgraduate qualification e.g. MD (Doctor of Medicine) or MS (Master of Surgery) or DNB in the concerned subject from a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective subject/allied discipline.
• Experience:
  • As Assistant Professor in the subject for four years in a permitted/recognized medical college/institution.
  • Should have two Research Publications (only original papers, meta-analysis, systematic reviews, and case series indexed in Medline, PubMed Central, Science Citation Index, Science Citation Index Expanded, Embase, Scopus, DoAJ). The author should be among the first three or corresponding author.
  • Should have completed the basic course in Medical Education Technology and basic course in Biomedical Research from Institutions designated by NMC.

Eligibility for Professor (Super-Specialty Departments)

• Essential: D.M./M.Ch./DNB/DrNB in the concerned subject from a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective subject/allied discipline.
• Experience: Same as above (Assistant Professor for 4 years + Research Publications + NMC Courses).

Eligibility for Associate Professor (Pre-Para Clinical Departments)

• Essential (Medical): MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject.
• Essential (Non-Medical):
  • Anatomy: M.Sc. (Medical Anatomy) with PhD Medical Anatomy
  • Physiology: M.Sc. (Medical Physiology) with PhD in Medical Physiology.
• Experience:
  • Associate Professor in the subject for three years in a permitted/recognized medical college/institution.
  • Should have at least four Research publications (at least two as Associate Professor) indexed in relevant journals. The author should be among the first three or corresponding author.
  • Should have completed the basic courses in Medical Education Technology and Biomedical Research from Institutions designated by NMC.

Eligibility for Associate Professor (Super-Specialty Departments)

• Essential: D.M./M.Ch./DNB/DrNB in the concerned subject.
• Experience: Same as above (Associate Professor for 3 years + Research Publications + NMC Courses).
