Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Consultant (Infrastructure Finance)

• Essential qualification: Graduation from a recognized institution together with qualification as a Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant.
• Essential experience: At least 15 years of post-qualification experience in finance or internal audit functions.
• Desirable qualification: Postgraduate qualification in Finance.

Consultant (Import/Export)

• Essential qualification: Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology with specialization in Mechanical Engineering.
• Essential experience: At least 15 years of post-qualification experience in the shipbuilding industry or another large industrial organization in import/export and procurement functions.
• Experience in customs clearance at Goa, Mumbai, or other Customs locations is required.
• Knowledge of GFR-2017, DAP-2020, the Manual for Procurement of Goods-2017, customs compliance, and procurement from indigenous and international sources is required.
• Desirable qualification: PGDMM or MFR qualification in Foreign Trade, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics Management from a recognized university or AICTE-approved institution.

Consultant (Stores)

• Essential qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized institution.
• Essential experience: At least 15 years of post-qualification experience in purchase and stores functions.
• Desirable qualification: PGDMM or MFR qualification in Foreign Trade, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics Management from a recognized university or AICTE-approved institution.

The upper age limit and work experience for all three posts are calculated as on 30 September 2026. Only Indian nationals may apply.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

1. Application screening and shortlisting: GSL will screen the received applications and shortlist candidates. Management may determine the shortlisting criteria and raise the eligibility threshold. Merely meeting the prescribed qualifications does not guarantee an interview call.
2. Interview call: Shortlisted candidates will receive the personal-interview call letter only by email at the address registered in the application. Candidates should regularly check the email address provided.
3. Personal interview: The notification specifies a personal interview and does not prescribe a separate written examination.
4. Travel allowance: No TA/DA will be paid to candidates called for the personal interview.
5. Result and updates: Eligible candidate names, interview details, roll numbers, and selections will be published under Notice Board → Careers → Advertisement on the GSL website.

Engagement Duration and Employment Nature

• All three positions are contractual and carry no claim to permanent employment with GSL.
• The initial engagement is for one year.
• Management may extend the engagement for one year at a time or for part of a year, subject to company requirements and performance, until the appointee turns 65.
• The remuneration stated in the notification is a consolidated monthly amount.

Roles and Responsibilities

Consultant (Infrastructure Finance)

• Advise the Shipyard Modernization Project Head on project proposals, financing decisions, cost implications, expenditure projections, cash flows, and funding requirements.
• Review cost estimates, project-fund utilization, financial risks, cost escalation, and mitigation measures.
• Undertake financial scrutiny of procurement, contractual, commercial, and variation proposals and provide analytical inputs for project monitoring and management reviews.

Consultant (Import/Export)

• Support import/export logistics, shipment planning, supplier coordination, freight coordination, transit insurance, and customs clearance.
• Advise on import and export documentation, customs compliance, deferred customs duty, AEO certification, re-export procedures, and export incentives.
• Provide technical guidance for equipment, outfitting items, spares, and other shipyard requirements.

Consultant (Stores)

• Support engineering stores, inventory management, materials handling, warehousing, and transportation practices.
• Review contracts, CRACs, e-way bills, receipt and unloading arrangements, and bills relating to transportation, material handling, and warehouse hiring.
• Recommend improvements in stores operations, cost control, efficiency, and coordination.
