Eligibility Criteria for GSSC Primary School Teacher 2026

Eligibility for Government Primary School Teacher (Marathi & Konkani Medium)

• Essential Qualification (Any One of the following):
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks + 2 years D.El.Ed/D.Ed.
  • Higher Secondary with 45% marks + 2 years D.El.Ed/D.Ed (as per NCTE Regulations, 2002).
  • Higher Secondary with 50% marks + 4 years B.El.Ed.
  • Higher Secondary with 50% marks + 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  • B.Ed. + 6 months Bridge Course in Elementary Education (PDPET).
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in Primary Schools recognized by the Directorate of Education.
• Language Requirement:
  • For Marathi Medium: Knowledge of Marathi.
  • For Konkani Medium: Knowledge of Konkani.
• Mandatory Certificates:
  • Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Certificate recognized by the Government of Goa.
  • 15 years residence certificate in Goa.
  • Employment Exchange Registration Card.
  • Birth Certificate (Age Proof).
• Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of Konkani (mandatory passing test for merit).

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: Not exceeding 45 years (as on 20.02.2026).
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwD (General): 10 years
  • PwD (SC/ST): 15 years
  • PwD (OBC): 13 years
