Meghalaya Secretariat (Nazarat) Vacancy 2026 – Post-Wise Details

Total of 153 vacancies are distributed across five posts. Some posts are filled from earlier unfilled vacancies and some are fresh. Category-wise breakup includes UR, KJ (Khasi-Jaintia), Garo, and OSTs/SCs. Reservation for PWDs and Skilled Sportspersons is also applicable.

Special Reservations: For Peon: 1 PWD (Partially Deaf) UR; 2 PWD (Partially Deaf) KJ + 2 Sports Persons KJ; 2 PWD (Locomotor) Garo + 2 Sports Persons Garo; 1 PWD (Locomotor) OSTs/SCs. For Cleaner: 1 PWD (Partially Deaf) unfilled Garo; 1 Sports Person each under fresh KJ and fresh Garo.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualification

Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen as per Articles 5-8 of the Constitution.

Note: No other qualification is required. Candidates from any recognized board or institution can apply.

Meghalaya Secretariat (Nazarat) Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years as on 1 January 2026.
• Maximum Age: 32 years as on 1 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for ST/SC candidates; for PWD candidates as per OM No.PER(AR)150/88/560 dated 18.01.2023.
• Accepted Age Proof: Municipal Board/Health & Family Welfare certificate, School Certificate, or HSLC Admit Card only.

Selection Process

Selection is through a written examination conducted by the Departmental Selection Committee. No interview as per OM dated 29 July 2025.

Duration: 1 hour (1 hour 30 minutes for PWD candidates). Negative marking applicable (details in question paper).

Exam Centres: Shillong, Tura, Jowai, Nongstoin, Nongpoh. Centre once selected cannot be changed. If insufficient candidates opt for Jowai/Nongstoin/Nongpoh, the committee may assign nearest centre.

Reservation: As per reservation policy of Government of Meghalaya.
