GVT is a National Level Organization established in 1999 by Krishak Bharti Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) for bringing about a sustainable improvement in livelihood of the poor and marginalized communities, especially, the tribal population including women. Working since 1992 under the aegis of KRIBHCO, GVT has managed projects costing Rs. 111 crore during 1992-2006. Until 2005-06, it was directly funded by DFID. It is run as a trust; overseen by a Board of Trustees, which includes two Directors from Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers.
