The Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd(GSCSC) is fully owned by the Government.The GSCSC during its establishment of more than three decades has come out as an effective instrument and played a good role in Public Distribution network in the State.One of the objective of the Corporation is - procurement, storage and distribution of day-to-day commodities for Fair Price Shopkeepers (FPSs) under Public Distribution System (PDS) and other welfare schemes like Mid Day Meal and Integrated Child Development Services etc.The Corporation also controls certain gas centres as well as petrol pumps at some locations. Corporation also provided cement at low cost than the market price to to Government.Currently , the Corporation has about 1179 employees. working in it.
It took place under the Indian Companies Act 1956, clause 617 vide Government resolution no. CSC/1180/1469/A Dt. 25/09/1980 passed by the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Gujarat.
