Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Draftsman, Class-3

• Essential Qualification: Candidates must possess a minimum two years Certificate in Civil Draftsman obtained from any Industrial Training Institute established by the Government.
• Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 is required. Candidates must have a certificate/marksheet of basic computer knowledge from any training institute, or diploma/degree with computer as a subject, or passed Standard 10/12 with computer subject.
• Language Knowledge: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both is required.
• Citizenship: Candidate must be a citizen of India or possess nationality as per the provisions of Rule-7 of Gujarat Civil Service Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 33 years (as on 30/01/2026)
• Age Relaxation: Applicable as per government rules (General Category Women: 5 years, Reserved Category Men: 5 years, etc.).

Salary Structure

• First 5 Years: Fixed salary of Rs. 26,000/- per month.
• After 5 Years: Regular appointment in Pay Level-2 (Rs. 19,900/- to Rs. 63,200/-) as per the 7th Pay Commission, subject to satisfactory service.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on a one-stage competitive examination through MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) type Computer Based Response Test (CBRT) / OMR method.

• Exam Pattern: The examination will be conducted in two parts: Part-A and Part-B.
• Part-A (90 Marks): Reasoning & Data Interpretation, Quantitative Aptitude, Constitution, Current Affairs, English and Gujarati Comprehension.
• Part-B (120 Marks): Questions related to technical qualification and its applications.
• Total Questions: 210 questions for 210 marks. Time allotted: 3 hours.
• Negative Marking: 1/4 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• Qualifying Standard: 40% for both Part-A and Part-B separately.
• Final Selection: Based on merit and office preference given by candidates, after certificate verification.
