Eligible candidates are invited for Walk-in-Interview for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at a fixed salary of Rs. 25,000/- p.m+ 16% HRA in research project "Mise-117 Development of phage-based strategies for biocontrol of antibiotic resistant Aeromonas species in fishery products funded by the Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), Mumbai. The post is purely temporary and the service of the incumbent is liable to be terminated at any time without any prior notice. The initial appointment will be for six months and shall be extended, subject to satisfactory performance The incumbent will have no right whatsoever for absorption in the regular university service

4. Essential Qualifications: 

a) M.F.Sc. (Fish Health Management/Fish Biotechnology/Fish Genetics and Breeding/Aquaculture/Fish Nutrition and Feed Technology/Fisheries Resource Management/ Fish Processing Technology/Aquatic Environment Management/Aquatic Animal Health Management) OR M.Sc.(Microbiology/Biotechnology/Zoology with specialization in Fisheries.) OR

b) Post-graduate degree in relevant subject (Life Science/ Microbiology/ Dairy Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Animal Biotechnology/ Veterinary Microbiology/ Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology/ Veterinary Biochemistry/ Veterinary Pathology/ Veterinary Medicine Veterinary Physiology/ Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology! Agriculture Microbiology/ Food Microbiology) Must have min. 65% marks or 6.5/10 OCPA in PG and 60% marks or 6.0/10 OCPA in UG

5. Desirable: NET qualification Experience in Fish diseases/Fish health management/Microbiology/ Molecular biology with DNA extraction, PCR, Gene cloning & expression, SDS-PAGE and blotting techniques

6. Job responsibilities:

a. To carry out the project work using microbiological and molecular biology techniques

b. Maintenance of project data and records

c. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by PI
