The High Court of Bombay at Goa is a common high court for the states of Goa, Daman, and Diu. It is one of the oldest high courts in India, established in the year 1862. The court has jurisdiction over the entire state of Goa, including the talukas of Pernem, Bicholim, Sattari, Bardez, Tiswadi, Ponda, Mormugao, Salcette, Quepem, Canacona, and Dharbandora.
The High Court of Bombay at Goa has a Chief Justice and several other judges who are appointed by the President of India. The court hears cases in both English and Konkani, the official languages of Goa.
The court has original jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters, as well as appellate jurisdiction over the decisions of the lower courts in the state. The court also has the power to issue writs and other orders in the nature of public interest litigation.
