Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Firm Constitution: Reputed partnership firm, proprietary concern, or Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) with office in the territorial jurisdiction of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Gujarat.
• Primary Profession: Primarily engaged in accountancy and auditing.
• Staff Strength: At least 15 staff, including minimum 3 Chartered Accountants working continuously for at least one year as on 31/03/2026.
• Professional Receipts: Gross professional receipts of not less than Rs. 50 lakhs in any two of the last five preceding financial years (2021-22 to 2025-26); income tax returns filed regularly up to AY 2026-27.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years in accountancy and auditing as on 31/03/2026.
• Tax Audit Track Record: Audited books of accounts for tax audit of at least one business entity with turnover of Rs. 50 crore or more in any two of the last five preceding financial years.
• Legal and Ethical Standing: No pending income tax evasion, demand, penalty, or prosecution; no guilt under Income-tax Act, 2025 or erstwhile Income-tax Act, 1961; no professional misconduct or complaint under Section 21 of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 before ICAI.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

The empanelment of Chartered Accountants shall be made at the discretion of the Income Tax Department based on minimum eligibility criteria. The Department reserves the right to consider other relevant factors, inputs, and feedbacks while finalizing the empanelment list. There is no written examination; selection is based on document evaluation and departmental discretion. No TA/DA will be paid for the empanelment process.
