Educational Qualification:
- Essential: Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the relevant discipline.
- Publication: Strong publication record in ABDC/ABS journals.
- Background: Good academic background and understanding of current developments in the field.
Experience (Essential):
- Assistant Professor (Grade II): No prior experience required.
- Assistant Professor (Grade I): Total 3 years of experience in research/teaching/industry.
- Associate Professor: 6 years of experience, of which at least 3 years should be at the Assistant Professor level at peer institutions.
- Professor: 10 years of experience, of which at least 4 years should be at the Associate Professor level at IIMs/IITs/IISc/NITIE/IISERs/Equivalent peer institutions.
Areas of Recruitment: Information Systems & Business Analytics, Finance & Accounting, and Legal Studies & Responsible Business (Business Law).
Salary (7th CPC Pay Scale):
- Professor: ₹1,59,100 – ₹2,20,200 (Entry Pay: ₹1,59,100)
- Associate Professor: ₹1,39,600 – ₹2,11,300 (Entry Pay: ₹1,39,600)
- Assistant Professor (Grade I): ₹1,01,500 – ₹1,67,400 (Entry Pay: ₹1,01,500)
- Assistant Professor (Grade II): ₹70,900 (Minimum Basic)
Plus LTC, medical reimbursement, EPF/NPS, faculty development allowance, support for conferences, consultancy opportunities, and additional compensation for teaching/training as per Institute norms.
Selection Procedure: Seminar/Interview. The Institute reserves the right to devise its own criteria for shortlisting.

Key Instructions for Candidates
- Special Recruitment Drive: This recruitment is specifically for SC/ST/NC-OBC/EWS/PWD category candidates. Reservation policy will apply as per Government of India rules.

- Relaxation: Relaxation in qualification/experience may be considered for exceptionally bright candidates. Candidates called for a higher post may be considered for a lower post if found suitable.
- Contractual Appointment: Depending on academic credentials, the Institute may consider offering a one/two/three-year contract.

The ninth Indian Institute of Management was established at Ranchi in 2009. This was made possible with the extensive support of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and the Government of Jharkhand, working under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
We started at a time when the management education world over was criticized for an overemphasis on competition, aggression, and achievement of results by any means. The biggest challenge was to revive the aura and exclusivity of classroom teaching in an era ruled by the advent of technology in education as well. There was an evident void in terms of fulfilling the requirements of firms that employ management students.
