Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

The Institute will accept one of the following qualifications based on the requirement of the specific job profile:

• Option A: Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field.
• Option B: Diploma in Engineering (3 years duration) in an appropriate field.
• Option C (Specific for IPM Dept): ITI Certificate Course in Electrician Trade with 3 years of experience in the operation of electrical substations and DG sets.

Note: ITI certificate course after completion of the 10th standard is considered valid. Degrees must be from UGC/AICTE recognized institutions. Candidates must have knowledge of computer applications.

2. Age Limit & Relaxation

• Maximum Age: Up to 27 years.
• Cut-off Date: Age is determined as of the last date of application submission, i.e., 09.03.2026.
• Relaxation: Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen is applicable as per Government of India (GOI) rules.
• Exemption: There is no upper age limit for regular employees of IIT Guwahati.

3. Mandatory Requirements

• Candidates applying against unreserved (UR) posts will not be eligible for age relaxation even if they belong to SC/ST/OBC.
• Reserved category candidates must upload valid Caste/OBC(NCL)/EWS certificates issued by Competent Authority (not older than 1 year from the closing date).
• PwBD candidates must upload proof of disability.
• Government/PSU employees must upload a valid NOC or submit an Undertaking.

Selection Process

Selection will be made based on the performance in the Written Test and/or Skill Test.

• Stage 1: Screening/Shortlisting of applications.
• Stage 2: Written Test (Details regarding pattern and syllabus will be uploaded on the website).
• Stage 3: Skill Test (Specific to the trade/department).
