Applications are invited for the post of “Junior Research Fellow” for a research project entitled “Investigations (Petrography-Geochemistry) of carbonatites and alkaline rocks of the Siriwasan Complex and surrounding regions, India with special reference to REE and Nb mineralisation” funded by the Board of Research in Nuclear Science. 1. Name of the post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) 2. Number of posts: 01 3. Duration: Initially for 1 year, extendable upon satisfactory performance. 4. Salary: Rs. 31,000 pm 5. Minimum qualifications: This position requires a post-graduate degree (BS-MS, MSc, M.Tech) in Geology, Earth Science, or Earth and Environmental Sciences from a recognized University/Institute. The candidate should have a fundamental knowledge of basc geology, field work, igneous petrology, thin section making, petrography with preferable knowledge/experience in geochemistry. 6. Desirable: This position will be centered on field sampling, thin section preparation, petrographic studies and geochemistry. Prior experience in operating instruments such as petrothin, grinders and polishers, weighing balance, bead preparation system, XRF, ICPMS, highly desirable. Experience with analysis of geochemical data is valuable. The position requires excellent English communication (oral and written) skills.
