The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISER Bhopal) has released a notification for the engagement of one Project Scientist for the BIRAC-funded INSACOG wastewater surveillance project under the Department of Biological Sciences. This is a purely temporary, project-based position.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
Essential Qualification (Project Scientist)
- Doctoral degree in Life Sciences OR Computational Sciences or Bioinformatics OR Bioinstrumentation from a recognised university or equivalent institution.
- Minimum of 60% aggregate marks (relaxation as per GOI guidelines).
Experience Requirement
- At least five years of experience in research and development during or after Ph.D in microfabrication and scientific instrumentation in industrial and academic institutions, and in sciences and technology organizations.
Desired Qualification
- Experience in developing and running scientific instruments.
- Familiarity with anaerobic culturing and bioreactors.
- Preferably next-generation sequencing data analysis for genome and metagenome.
- Programming, script writing in Perl or Python or C, database construction, and development of AIML tools.
- Managerial skills, including project management, report writing, and coordination with other institutions.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
- Application Screening: Shortlisting through a comprehensive application screening process.
