IIT Hyderabad Invites Application for Research Fellow Recruitment 2022

Applications are invited for the following assignment on a purely time-bound research project undertaken in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad.

1. Name of the post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

2. Number of posts : 01

3.Name of the research project : Laser cladding of functionally graded ceramic coatings for high temperature and wear applications: Assessment of mechanical properties and their correlation with molten pool thermal history and its improvement through laser shock peening

4. Name of the sponsoring agency : DRDO

5. Duration of the position : One (01) year, extendable to two (02) years (Renewal will be done after one year subjected to satisfactory performance and continued funding availability)

6. Emolument : INR 31,000 per month consolidated + HRA

7. Essential Qualification : M.E/M. Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering with 60% marks or Equivalent CGPA.

8. Desired Qualification : Experience in the following area: Monitoring and control systems, laser material processing, additive manufacturing, laser surface engineering, plasma spray coating, mechanical testing, material characterization, etc.

Selection Procedure

1. Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on their merit and need of the project and will be informed via mail. 

2. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview in online mode. Interview dates will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates through email. 

3. The position will remain open if no suitable candidate is found.
