Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata (IISER Kolkata), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has issued Advt. No. IISER-K/Admn./NT-06/2026 dated 10 October 2026 for the recruitment of 02 Group 'A' non-teaching positions — Librarian and Deputy Librarian — on Direct Recruitment (permanent) basis. • Ph.D. Requirement: A Ph.D. Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation / Archives and Manuscript-keeping.
• Innovation Evidence: Evidence of innovative library services, including integration of ICT in library operations.
• Experience: At least 10 years experience as Deputy Librarian (Pay Level-12), including a minimum of 3 years at Pay Level-13A, in the library of any Technical University, Educational Institute of National Importance, or any other large Technical Library.

Deputy Librarian (Pay Level-12) — 1 Post

• Educational Qualification: Master's Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in a point-scale (wherever the grading system is followed).
• Ph.D. Requirement: A Ph.D. Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation / Archives and Manuscript-keeping.
• Innovation Evidence: Evidence of innovative library services, including integration of ICT in library operations.
• Experience: At least 8 years experience as Assistant Librarian (Pay Level-10), including a minimum of 2 years at Pay Level-11, in the library of any Higher Education Institute / University, Educational Institute of National Importance, or any other large Scientific or Technical Institute Library.
