Applications are invited from the Indian citizens for filling up the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Lab assistant under the DBT (New Delhi) sponsored, purely time bound project undertaken at FMD Research Centre, ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Hebbal, Bengaluru. The position is purely temporary, with an initial appointment for one year and extendable solely based on performance. The candidate will not have any opportunity for applying to regular Ph.D. program in the Institute or elsewhere. The details of the project are mentioned below:
1. Name and No of post: JRF: 01 position
2. Project Duration: Jan 2022 to Jan 2024 (2 years)
3. Title of the Project: Development of genome edited BHK-21 cells line to rescue Foot and Mouth Disease Virus Asia1 mutants
4. Educational Qualifications: Essential: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science (Life Sciences/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Zoology) OR Graduate/ Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course (B.V.Sc.&A.H./M.V.Sc.) with National Eligibility Tests (NET) such as CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE or Equivalent examination (Selection process through national level examinations conducted by the Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc (Qualifications as per the DST Order No. SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30.01. 2019)
5. Desirable: Experience in Moecular Biology, Gene editing, virological techniques and Animal cell culture.
6. Emoluments: Rs.31,000 + 24% HRA

6. Emoluments: Rs.20,000 + 24% HRA Emoluments shall be applicable only if candidates met educational qualification and eligibility criteria as per DST OM No .SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated 10-07-2020

Selection Procedure
The walk-in interview will be conducted on 24.03.2022 at 11:00 hour at ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bellary Road, Hebbal; Bengaluru-560024 Karnataka.

Established in 1889, the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) is one of the premier research institutions dedicated to livestock research and development of the region. The institute with faculty strength of more than 275 has a major mandate of research, teaching, consultancy and technology transfer activities. The institute imparts quality post-graduate education to students not only from various parts of the country, but also from overseas. Today, the institute with its deemed to be university status contributes immensely to human resource development in the discipline of veterinary sciences with skills and knowledge necessary for the challenges of the new millennium. It awards degrees to master and doctoral programmes in more than 20 disciplines of veterinary and animal sciences, livestock products technology, basic sciences and extension education. To impart continuing education to field veterinarians, the institute also conducts diploma courses in veterinary preventive medicine, animal husbandry, veterinary biological products, animal reproduction, poultry husbandry, medicine and surgery, zoo and wild animal health care and management, meat and meat products technology.
Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) was established in the year 1889. It is located in Bareilly. The institute conducts advanced research in the field of veterinary medicine and allied branches. Administrative control of the Institute is currently under Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi.
IVRI does livestock research and works for development of the region.The institute is involved in research, teaching, consultancy and technology transfer activities.
