Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from Indian Nationals to join in the following project position.

1. Post Name: Name of position: Junior Research Fellow 

2. No. of Post: 01

3. Project title: Understanding the enigma of interconnection between inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and neurodegeneration utilizing genetically predisposed IBD mice model

4.Principal Investigator: Santosh Chauhan, PhD, Scientist E, ILS Bhubaneswar

5. Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- + @ %

6. Eligibility: Candidates having M.Sc. or an equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects such as Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade point (50% for OBC/ST/SC) are eligible to apply. Candidates should have also qualified NET-JRF/NET-LS/GATE. The project requires extensive handling of mice and molecular biology work. At least 1 year of experience in handling mice and/or molecular biology work is preferred for this position.

About Institute of Life Sciences

Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) was established in the year 1989 as an autonomous institute under the administrative control of Govt. of Odisha. In 2002, it was taken over by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. The Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee dedicated the institute to the nation in July 2003.

Towards this, the institute has established necessary infrastructure, including research facilities, genomics and proteomics platforms, flow cytometry, imaging facilities, animal house, green-house, plant tissue culture and zebrafish facilities and high performance computing facility etc. with financial support from the Dept. of Biotechnology, Govt. of India.
