Selection Procedure

1. Mere fulfillment of the essential educational qualifications and experience will not vest any right on a candidate for being called for interview.

2. The applications will be short-listed based on academic track record and experience and if necessary, written test will be conducted. The decision of the Institute will be final.

How to Apply:

1. Applications should be neatly typed on thick plain A4 size paper (210 x 297 mm) in the prescribed format given in ISR website.

2. A self-addressed post-card with requisite stamp should be sent along with the completed application.

3. Candidates should indicate in this card the Advertisement number and name of the post applied for

4. The applications will be acknowledged by the institute by returning this card to the candidates after indicating the Registration number allotted to them. Candidates may note that no separate acknowledgement other than this card will be sent to them.

5. Duly filled printed applications are only acceptable. Email applications will not be accepted.

6. Copies of certificates in support of educational qualifications, date of birth, Community (in case of SC/ST/SEBC/EWS candidates only) and experience should be attached with the application. Candidates will have to produce the original certificates during the time of interview.

7. Applications received after the closing date or received incomplete in any respect are liable to be summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection will be entertained.

8. Important Instructions:

1. These posts are on regular basis.

2. The age of the candidates applying in current adverstiment shall be considered as on the last date of advertisement (18/02/2022-up to 05:00 p.m. IST)

3. The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for the interview.

4. The required degree indicated above should have been obtained from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes recognized by the Government, deemed to be a university under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

5. The selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in Gujarat and outside.

6. The experience certificate is to be submitted with the application. Experience after completion of the essential academic qualifications will be counted. An application without Experience certificate will be rejected.

7. The upper age limit may be relaxed up to five years in favour of a candidate who is already in regular service of State Government or Central Government or Government Undertaking Board/ Corporation or the local Bodies of the State or the Statutory Organizations.

8. The candidates must possess basic knowledge of Computer Application.

9. Have adequate knowledge of Gujarati/Hindi and English.

10. Preference will be given to the candidates who have a post graduate degree in Geophysics.

11. The selected candidates will be kept on probation for a period of two years for Scientist-B,C & D

12. Government of Gujarat rules of reservations for Women, PH, SC, ST and SEBC will be followed.

13. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/SEBC/EWS category should attach the relevant certificate with the application. If a candidate does not attach the certificate, the application will be treated in the general category.

14. The candidates working in Government Departments/Public Sector Organizations and Govt. funded research agencies will be considered only if the application is forwarded through proper channel (advance copy of application should reach before the last date) with a clear certificate that no vigilance case is pending/contemplated against him/her and the applicant will be relieved immediately/within one month of receipt of appointment order.

15. Applications not accompanied by relevant attested copies of certificates including semester wise/year wise Memorandum of Marks sheet(s) will be summarily rejected.

16. Incomplete and unsigned applications as well as those received after the last date will not be considered.

17. For the reserved category, the rules of reservation of Government of Gujarat will be followed. The upper age limit may be relaxed up to five years for SC/ST/SEBC/EWS and women candidates, as per the Govt. of Gujarat norms in force.
