Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Research Associate (RA) – Project: Drone-based Survey Infrastructure in Jharkhand State

• Minimum Essential: Ph.D in Remote Sensing & GIS / Geo-informatics / Geology / Forestry / Geophysics / Earth & Atmospheric Sciences / Agriculture / Water Engineering and Management / Civil Engineering / Environmental Science or equivalent from a recognized university; OR 3 years of research, teaching, and design & development experience after M.Sc / M.Tech with first class in the above disciplines.
• Additional Requirement: One research paper published in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
• Desirable: Proficiency in image processing and GIS software, DGPS survey experience, drone-based data collection experience, and DGCA-approved Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC) holder will be preferred.

Junior Project Assistant (JPA) – Project: Land Cover/Land Use Assessment (1:50,000 scale)

• Minimum Essential: M.Sc or M.Tech in Remote Sensing & GIS / Geo-informatics / Geology / Forestry / Geophysics / Earth & Atmospheric Sciences / Agriculture / Water Engineering and Management / Civil Engineering / Environmental Science or equivalent with first class from a recognized university.
• Desirable: Working experience in image processing and GIS software.

All eligibility criteria must be satisfied on or before 01 October 2026. Candidates must be citizens of India.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• Candidates will first be screened on the basis of minimum required qualification.
• Screened-out candidates will be called for a personal interview.
• A written test may also be conducted for short-listing if the number of screened candidates is large.
• The final selection list will be prepared purely on the merit of the interview (or interview + written test score).
• No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the written test or interview.

Salary & Emoluments

• Research Associate (RA): Rs. 47,000 per month (fixed)
• Junior Project Assistant (JPA): Rs. 25,920 per month (fixed)
• RA and JPA are not entitled to any other benefits such as Dearness Allowance, Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, medical benefits, or annual increments.
• Only casual leave is allowed as per the rules of JSAC and Government of Jharkhand.
