Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College (KCGMC), Karnal, has announced a significant recruitment drive for the post of Senior Residents in various medical departments. Recruitment Type: This is a Direct Recruitment process. Selection will be based on merit calculated from qualifying examination scores, followed by an Interview and scrutiny of original documents. There is no competitive written examination (Prelims/Mains) involved in this recruitment.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• MBBS from an institution/University recognized by MCI (Now NMC).
• MD/MS/DNB in the subject concerned.
• Condition: The result of MD/MS/DNB must have been declared before the closing date (17/02/2026). Three years of tenure should be completed by the closing date.
• Registration: Must be registered under the State/Central Medical Registration Act.
• FMGE Candidates: Score of the exit examination (FMGE) conducted by NBE will be considered equivalent to MBBS score for calculating pre-merit. Candidates with only pass/fail certificate (no score card) will be considered to have 50% marks for merit calculation.

Age Limit & Relaxation

Cut-off Date for Age Calculation: Closing Date of Application (17/02/2026)

• General Medicine, Surgery, etc.: Must be below 45 years.
• Pre & Para-Clinical Depts (Anatomy, Physiology, Bio-Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Comm. Medicine): Must be below 50 years (as per NMC Press Release dated 05/07/2025).

Age Relaxation: Relaxation for SC/ST, Haryana BC, ESM, etc., will be applicable as per Haryana Government instructions. Benefit is restricted to Haryana Domiciles only.

Mandatory Requirements

• Haryana Domicile: Essential for applying under reserved categories (SC, BC, EWS, ESM, PH).
• Disability (PH): 4% of posts are reserved. A Disability Certificate issued by a Competent Authority in the prescribed format must be submitted.
• Experience: Experience will be considered only if obtained from MCI/NMC recognized/permitted Medical College.
• NOC for Govt. Employees: Candidates in Govt./Semi-Govt./Autonomous bodies must bring a fresh No Objection Certificate (NOC) not older than 3 months from the advertisement date.

Selection Process

Since this is Direct Recruitment, the selection involves the following stages:

1. Merit List: Preparation of merit based on qualifying examination scores.
2. Scrutiny of Original Documents: Candidates must bring all original certificates (Matriculation, MBBS/MD Mark sheets, Degrees, Registration, Caste Certificate, Experience Certificates) for verification.
3. Interview: The interview will be held in the office of the Director, KCGMC, Karnal.
4. Final Appointment: Based on interview performance and document verification. Services are on a yearly tenure basis (extendable up to 3 tenures).

Application Fee

• General Category: Rs. 1000/-
• Reserved Categories (Haryana Domicile only): Rs. 250/-
• Women Candidates (General & Reserved): 50% Concession (Rs. 500/- for Gen, Rs. 125/- for Reserved).
• PH & ESM Candidates: Exempted from application fee.

Mode of Payment: Crossed Demand Draft in favour of “Director, KCGMC, Karnal”.

• Reservation: Strictly for Haryana Domicile candidates. In case ESM candidates are not found suitable, vacancies will be filled from the same vertical category.
• Backlog Filling: If suitable candidates of Deprived Scheduled Castes (DSC) are not available, Other Scheduled Castes (OSC) will be recruited against the balance vacant posts, and vice-versa.
• Documents: Incomplete applications or those without necessary annexures will be rejected. The institute is not responsible for postal delays.
• Authority: The decision of the appointing authority regarding eligibility and selection is final and binding.
• Disputes: Any legal disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of Karnal only.
