Eligibility for Assistant Professor (Contract)

• Essential Qualification:
  1. B.Tech (Agrl. Engg.).
  2. M.Tech (Soil & Water Engineering / Soil & Water Conservation Engineering / Irrigation & Drainage Engineering) / Equivalent.
  3. NET Qualification (ASRB/ICAR/UGC/AICTE).
• Details on Qualification:
  
  • Bachelor's Degree from the discipline concerned, recognized by Kerala Agricultural University. (Note: B.Tech in Agri. Engg. not insisted if make-up courses of at least 12 credits (semester) or 18 credits (trimester) for PG courses in Agri. Engg. from KAU are completed).
  • Master's Degree in relevant subject recognized by KAU with minimum 55% marks (traditional system).
  • Ph.D. holders (as per UGC Regulations 2009 and 2016) are exempted from NET under specific conditions (regular mode, evaluated by 2 examiners, open viva voce, 2 research papers, 2 conference papers).
  • Masters programs in disciplines where NET is not conducted are exempted from NET.
  • Foreign Ph.D. (Top 500 QS/THE/ARWU rankings) is also acceptable.
• Age Limit: Not over 50 years as on 01.01.2026.
• Desirable: Knowledge in Malayalam language to read and write; Ph.D. in the relevant subject. PG candidates considered in absence/shortage of NET/Ph.D. holders.
