Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has officially released the notification for the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) Promotion for faculty members for the year 2026. This recruitment drive is strictly for the promotion of existing teaching faculty under the CAS module via the SAMARTH Portal.

Interested and eligible faculty members belonging to the Schools of Languages, Linguistics & Indology, Arts & Social Sciences, Education & Training, Sciences, and Mass Communication & Journalism must complete their online application process by 15th January 2026. The hard copy of the application must reach the authorities by 22nd January 2026.

The following promotion levels are available for eligible candidates under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS):

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Faculty Promotion

• Target Audience: Eligible Teaching Faculty of School of Languages, Linguistics & Indology, School of Arts & Social Sciences, School of Education & Training, School of Sciences, and School of Mass Communication & Journalism of MANUU.
• Qualification: Strict adherence to the API (Academic Performance Indicator) & Academic Research Score as set out in the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and Other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education, 2018, and its subsequent amendments.
• Profile Completion: Faculty Members must have completed their Profile (Biographical, Service, Experience & Academic details) on the SAMARTH Portal to be eligible to apply.

Selection Process & Guidelines

• Assessment: API and Research scores will be assigned based on UGC Regulations.
• Re-assessment: If a candidate does not succeed in the first assessment, re-assessment is allowed only after one year.
• Effective Date of Promotion: Promotions are effective from either 1st January or 1st July depending on the date of eventual assessment.
• Publications: Publications in predatory/dubious journals or conferences will not be considered. Quality of research is prioritized over quantity.

Important Instructions for Application

• All promotions must be processed through the CAS Module on the SAMARTH Portal. No offline applications will be entertained.
• Hard copies of the online application must be submitted in two (02) sets to the Establishment & Recruitment Section - I within one week of online submission (by 22.01.2026).
• Documents such as Time-Table (Assessment Period), Certificate of Faculty Induction Programme (FIP)/Orientation/Refresher Course, and proofs of e-learning modules developed must be attached.
• Faculty members attached with CDOE, Centers, UGC-MMTTC, Physical Education, Library, etc., will be notified later regarding configurations for CAS application.

How to Apply

1. Log in to the SAMARTH Portal using your ID.
2. Navigate to Employee Services and click on the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) tab.
3. Create an application under “SELF ASSESSMENT APPLICATION (CAS)”.
4. Fill in the details and proceed with submission.
5. After successful online submission, download and print the application.
6. Send the hard copy (2 sets, spiral bound, page numbered, self-attested) to the ER-I Section by 22.01.2026.
