About MBSPSU
The Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University, Patiala" is the brain child of Capt. Amarinder Singh, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab to regain the erstwhile sporting glory of Punjab. The vision and dream of the Chief Minister was put in place by Mr. Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, Hon’ble Sports Minister, Raja Randhir Singh, Arjuna Awardee and former member of the International Olympic Committee. The aim of the University is to promote sports education in sports sciences, sport technology, sports management and sports coaching and to function as a training center for select sports disciplines by adopting best international practices. It will be the sole specialized University empowered to affiliate and regulate any Sports or Physical Education Institutions in Punjab.
