The Director, NIEPMD, Chennai invites applicants for a walk-in /online interview/selection process for engagement of Staff Members (Consultants) on contract basis at Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC), Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, established to serve as resource centre in disability rehabilitation for all categories. 1. Post Name: Special Educator cum Vocational Instructor (Consultant) 2. No. of Post: 1 (89 day) 3. Salary (Consolidated – Fixed): Rs.250/- per session for a maximum of four sessions per day 4. Essential: Diploma in Special Education 5. These positions will be filled up on contractual basis for a period of 89 days. Details are furnished below

3. The Candidates are requested to report at Room No. 52, Ist Floor, Department of Therapeutics (for walk in Interview) before 10.00 A.M on 08.12.2021.
4. Those interested to attend the Online (Virtual Mode) may send a note to the E - mail [email protected] containing their personal particulars, post interested in, E mail id, phone number, address etc. as to establish contact for an online / telephonic interview, if necessary. This note shall be sent to the said E Mail on or before 06.12.2021(05.00 PM).

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Govt. of India is working and aiming for the empowerment of persons with disabilities since its commencement. This ministry is serving the disabled through its seven delivery models. These are conducting awareness, sensitization and HRD programs, undertaking research & development, providing assistive devices and livelihood for persons with disabilities (PwD) in the year 1980 which reinforces the idea of serving disabled. The United Nation declared decade for disabilities (1982-1992), which led to the advent of the most of the National Institutions. These Institutes started earlier, were working for the persons with Disabilities of different individual categories (single disabilities). The decade between 1993-2002 was declared as the Asia pacific decade of the disabled persons. Further extended as extension of Asia Pacific decade for the disabled 2003-2013.
