CSIR – National Institute of Oceanography, a constituent national laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research Institute (CSIR), invites applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of the following project staff, purely on a temporary contractual basis to carry out research work on the R&D project and to be engaged in our Regional Centre Visakhapatnam
1. Post Name: Project Associate I
2. Project Title: Impact Assessment of Industrial Effluent Release on the Seawater Quality and Ecosystem in the coastal waters of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal states
3. Essential Qualifications & Experience required: Essential Qualification: M.Sc Microbiology/Marine Microbiology/Aquatic Sciences/Biological Sciences with minimum 2 years research experience in relevant field
Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement Hands-on experience in the laboratory analysis of marine microbial community. Participation in field works on boat/research vessel. Participation in field trips on boat/research ships for sample collection. Laboratory analysis of water samples for the microbial community (bacteria).Any other work related to the project

4. Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement: Experience in analysis of water column chemical and biological parameters. Participation in field trips on boats and research vessels. Collection of samples Laboratory analysis of samples. Assistance in report preparation and any other project-related work

1. If number of applications are more, then selection committee will fix a criteria to shortlist the applicants. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview. Selection will be done on the basis of online interview through either Skype/Google Meet/Zoom or any other suitable software, as decided by the competent authority.
