Educational Qualification: M.Sc
Applications are invited on prescribed format (On-line) for the temporary post of "Junior Research Fellow” for the Project entitled “Physics of Neutron Stars: Constraints from Finite Nuclei to Gravitational Waves”. Selected candidates may enroll in Ph.D. Programme in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, National Institute of Technology Rourkela based on Institute norms and regulations
1. Position: Junior Research Fellow
2. Name of the Research Project: Physics of Neutron Stars: Constraints from Finite Nuclei to Gravitational Waves
3. Tenure of the Project: 3 Years
4. Job Description: To carry out the reserach work related to Physics of Neutron Stars, candidate with experience of numerical simulations related to the project will get preference. Candidate may register for Ph.D at NIT Rourkela.
5. Essential Qualifications and experience:
a) M. Sc. in Physics with 65% marks or 7.0 CGPA
b) Good Programming skills in Python/Fortran
c) Valid NET / GATE Score
6. Desirable Qualifications / Exp:
a) Master thesis project based on Neutron Stars and Gravitational Waves
b) Any Research Paper during master project
7. Consolidated monthly compensation /Fellowship: For NET/GATE: INR 31,000 / pm for 2 Years, INR 35,000/ pm for the next Year onwards

Selection Procedure
Mere possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee an invitation to the interview. Candidates will be shortlisted based on the merit and need of the project.

2. The candidates are required to send the complete filled up application form (Soft copy) to [email protected].
3. The application form is available in the following link: http://nitrkl.ac.in/oldwebsite/ Jobs_Tenders/5ProjectFellowships/Doc/JRF%20LS-PND-64(2).pdf which must be filled by candidates and also required to attach photocopies of all supporting documents, research papers (if any) etc
4. Candidates will build a Single PDF file; it is to be sent to Principal Investigator ([email protected]) on or before 05/05/2022, 2359 HRS.
5. The candidates are also required to produce relevant documents mentioned in the application form [such as original of all mark sheets and certificates, research papers (if any), experience certificate (if any) etc.] at the time of interview/joining.
6. Selection / Joining will be cancelled in case of any suppression of information/document provided earlier.
7. Date of Online Interview: Will be on 10/05/2022.
