Educational Qualification: M.Sc
Applications are invited from motivated and eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on a Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India funded research project (EEQ/2021/000754) entitled “Molecular Engineering on Porphyrins Skeleton to Develop Novel Nanotweezers and Nanocalipers for Carbon Nanotube Extraction”. The duration of the project is three (03) years.
1. Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
2. No. of posts: 01
3. Eligibility: M.Sc. in Chemistry with minimum 60% aggregate marks (CGPA≥6.5/10) to qualify under Open/OBC category and minimum 55% aggregate marks (CGPA≥6.0) for candidates under SC/ST/PWD category. Must have Qualified CSIR-UGC NET or GATE
4. Desirable: Candidates with organic specialization and experience in synthetic Organic/Porphyrin Chemistry will be preferred
5. Emoluments: ₹31,000/-per month + HRA @16%

Selection Procedure
1. Screening & Interview Process Candidates will be shortlisted based on their merit and as per the requirement of the project. Mere qualification of eligibility criteria does not guarantee for shortlisting. The interview shall be tentatively conducted in the month of May 2022 in physical mode depending on the situation.
2. The mode of interview, date, time and venue will be intimated to short-listed candidates via e-mail only. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview in physical mode. Candidates who are already employed should produce 'No objection Certificate' (NOC) from the employer. For any clarifications, candidates can contact the Principal Investigator.

National Institute of Technology, Srinagar is one of the premier Educational Institutes in the Northern Regions of the country. It was established in 1960 and has been one of the eighteen Regional Engineering Colleges sponsored by the Govt. of India during the 2nd Plan. The Institute acquired the status of National Institute of Technology with deemed to be University status during August, 2003 and attained full autonomy in its Academics.
The Institute is situated at the the banks of world-famous Dal Lake, with the far-famed Hazratbal Shrine on other side of the campus. NIT Srinagar is a residential Institute with accommodation facility in Hostels and Staff-Quarters. There are four Boys and one Girls hostel which swallops about 1500 boys and 200 girls. Besides running the B.Tech Programme the Institute also offers M.Tech programme in many streams.In addition to that a large number of students are registered for M.Phil and Ph.D Programmes.
