NCC Officers Training Academy (OTA), Kamptee , was sanctioned on 01 Mar 1957 and was inaugurated on 06 May 1957 by the hands of Dy Def Minister Sardar Surijit Majithia. A Girl's wing for Pre-commission training for lady officers was set up in the school in August 1959 but was later it was transferred to Gwalior in April 1965, and is currently know as OTA Gwalior. The NCC Academy is located at Purandhar, which was sanctioned in September,1961. It was shut down on 31 March 1979 and has been associated with this academy.
The NCC Officers Training Academy, Kamptee is a one of the renowned training institution for National Cadet Corps. Every year the training institution almost trains approximately 5000 personnel which consist of 17 NCC Directorates that includes officers of Army posted to NCC, Associate NCC Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and non Commissioned Officers posted as trainers to teach the NCC. Some training courses are organised for preparation of the cadets for Service Selection Boards of Special Entry Scheme.
