Eligibility Criteria for Stringer

• Essential Qualification: Applicants should have qualification, experience and expertise in cinematography / videography / news gathering / broadcast journalism. Academic and Technical Qualifications must be furnished with proof in duplicate.
• Experience: Experience as cameraperson/news cameraperson/videographer and as newsman/electronic journalist must be provided with organizational details and period of work.
• Desirable: Applicants must have adequate facilities and equipment including cameras, audio equipment, lights, and preferably ENG equipment as specified in the guidelines.

Salary Details

• Local Coverage (less than 6 hours): Rs. 1,500/- (inclusive of transportation and delivery charges).
• Extended Local Coverage (exceeds 6 hours or >10 km): Treated as two coverages; second coverage paid at Rs. 1,000/-.
• Outstation Coverage (beyond district limits): Rs. 1,800/- per coverage.
• Payments are on a per-coverage basis irrespective of footage length.

How to Apply

1. Download and fill the prescribed Application Form for Empanelment as Stringer (Annexure-A) from the official notification.
2. Submit applications in triplicate in a sealed cover superscribed “Empanelment of Stringers of DD News-2026”.
3. Enclose attested copies of certificates for qualifications, experience, and equipment ownership.
4. Attach a Demand Draft of Rs. 1,180/- (inclusive of GST) in favour of “DDO/ DDK, Vijayawada” payable at Vijayawada.
5. Send the application to: The Head of News, Regional News Unit, Doordarshan Kendra, Punnamathota, Opp; TTD Kalyanamadapam, Vijayawada – 520010, Andhra Pradesh on or before 20 February 2026 (5 PM).
